Monthly programs will have short announcements but will not have Club business discussions. You are encouraged to become active in the steering committee which conducts the ongoing business of the club.
- Tuesday, May 12th and Tuesday, May 19th – 6:00 p.m. (please note change in time from previously published 7:00 p.m.)
- Fuqua Livery Stable in Breckenridge (Washington St. between Main and Ridge, across from Barney Ford Museum) We will be creating mosaic flower pots with Michelle Woods of CO Mountain College. The first session we will glue tile pieces to a clay planter. The second session we will be applying the grout. The cost for this project is $30 per person. Please include your payment for this project with your annual dues.
- Saturday, May 30th – 9:00 a.m.
- Breckenridge Alpine Gardens. Please join us for our annual “tidy up” of the gardens. This meeting will be open to non-members as well. Garden Club will host lunch for all volunteers at a local restaurant. The gardens are located behind Kenosha Steak House, which is at 301 South Main Street in Breckenridge. The gardens are on the east bank of the Blue River at the Adam Street Bridge crossing to the Riverwalk Center, 150 W. Adams Avenue, Breckenridge
- Tuesday, June 16th - 7:00 p.m.
- Frisco Community/Senior Center. Melissa Kirr, from Betty Ford Alpine Gardens, will do a slide program about the gardens. We will also discuss high altitude plants and our Plant Select garden project in Breckenridge. Guests welcome!
- Wednesday, June 17th
- Plant Select Day – Members who wish to spend the day at the Denver Botanic Gardens are welcome to attend this informational program about the new plant selections developed by CSU in collaboration with the Botanic Gardens. We will collect Plant Select plants for testing in the Breckenridge Alpine Gardens. Car pooling will be arranged. There is a per person charge for this day. Details and lunch options will be sent to you at a later date.
- Saturday, June 20th – 9:00 a.m.
- At Plant Select Day we receive many plants that need to be planted in our Plant Select garden that is part of the Breckenridge Alpine Gardens. Please join us for the planting session. It is a great chance to learn about plants for high altitude and see how the plants from previous years are faring.
- Thursday, July 16th
- Excursion to Betty Ford Alpine Garden in Vail. We will meet in Frisco at the trail head parking lot by the river, exit 201, at 5:00 p.m. for carpooling. Box dinners will be arranged.
- Saturday, July 25th
- The annual GARDEN TOUR will be held on – registration is from 8:30-10:30 a.m. at the Community/Senior Center in Frisco. There is a need for all members to participate in the planning and executing of this day. Please indicate your willingness to take a small job on the membership application.
- Thursday, August 6th
- first annual “progressive dinner and tour” of member gardens. An opportunity to see gardens of other members while having a food course at each home. Time and gardens to be announced later. Please indicate your interest in hosting for this event on the membership application.
- Saturday, September 12th – 9:00 a.m.
- Fall clean up and cutback day at Breckenridge Alpine Gardens.
